:/ People keep focusing on “female stamens” like it’s a big deal. It’s not they already confirmed it was possible it just didn’t work for ikuno/ichigo (at the time).
What the big deal is that there are male pistils before we were told that girls needed to power/control the franxx. Though, it could just be a special case with the Nines (who I’m pretty confident are all males).

So upon rewatch while I still there should have been an ep between 14/15 (and this should have been a 2 season anime) I’m more happy with the resolution between the primary love triangle (mainly because I missed that part during my initial watch because I got busy).
