oh lmao the “main” artist for XC2 is a porn…

That one booby lady in particular they refer to honestly is as bad as they say, but the rest of the art seems fine to me. What are your thoughts?

I’m assuming you mean Dahlia/Tsuki because booby lady is a pretty vague term when it comes to Xenoblade.

But, she really isn’t, her game model looks pretty bad (which is the fault of the modellers not the character design), but otherwise the design is perfectly fine. The only other gripes I have with it is that the character art isn’t that flattering either and the weird claw heels.

As of other designs I think are actually worse/weaker;

Vess - Her design is really busy and doesn’t really have enough variation. I can describe her design as just “lines lines lines, oh and maybe some circles”. It also has some of that goofy 90s floating shoulder plates thing going on (which personally not a fan).

Gorg - As one of the new male blades I want to like his design but those stupid oversized yaoi gauntlets just ruin the design. They don’t blend well with the rest of the design theme at all.

Nim - Her extra heads should be more prominent in her design and blend more with her design overall.

Electra - Her clothing is so damn boring. Her hair is super cute but that outfit is just plain, the color is boring and it doesn’t fit with the design of her hammer at all. I feel like the the artist had a good idea for a lightening themed blade with lighting ball pom-pom hair but couldn’t figure out what design the outfit so just went with a dress because they didn’t have any idea what to put her in. If anyone is deserving a redesign that poor child is.

Though my overall problems with the designs mostly lie firstly in lack of style unity in the 3d models. Some of them are super jarring when compared to the other characters (most notably the Nomura designed ones compared to the main characters). They really should have kept the unique designs/character art but had the models all unified in-game under one art style so it’d less jarring when characters with noses started showing up.

my second biggest problem is the lack of male blades. IIRC there is like 5-6 of them in the game with the rest being women. They should have mandated that the guests artists who got two designs had to do one male and female and then assigned half the single-character guests artists to design to design only females and the other half design males.

Specifically the earth/fire Minotaur and flower fight. I can’t take my fucking wind or water grid because either the Minotaur would 1-hit all my wind characters or flower would 1-hit all my water characters.

So I’m stuck with fire/earth (or light/dark, but they’re weak and I heard there is an off-element penalty too?). My earth grid is weak as hell so then that just leaves my fire but the Minotaur can take of like 90% of my fire characters HP and how look at that the flower just happens to attack whatever character was receiving end of the Minotaur’s fucking axe.
