Anonymous asked: Are there any good fat tids this anime season?

So farf from what I watched nothing particularly impressive. But, SSSS. Gridman does have a girl with big thighs.

Anime Opinions:

Goblin Slayer - It’s a shame the quality is so low. When I saw it was the studio that did the Akame ga Kill! anime I immediately lowered my expectations. I didn’t like that they cut out the scenes from ep. 2 esp when they had that overly long monologue. They really don’t need to do 1 chapter = 1 episode. When they end up with a lot of really obviously long periods of blatant filler shots.

SSSS Gridman - I found the first ep to be REALLY slow up until the end. But, the show picked up a lot for me ep.2. Though one criticism is a lot of still shots with audio but it looks a lot better then Goblin Slayer.

Skeleton Bookstore - I forgot the actual name. But, I think the title should be obvious what I am talking about? That show is really funny and endearing. I don’t have much else to say it’s just good.

I still need to catch up on all the other anime I wanted to watch yet. But, I am lazy. I still have leftovers from last season to watch too.

Oh wow Japanese people are mad about the Tezuka…

Well it IS Tezuka, NOT having designs faithful to his style is damn near sacrilege.

Well, it’s not that the designs aren’t faithful to his style. It’s that they aren’t faithful to how the character was designed to originally looked (cute girl-ification not withstanding).

Both supposed to be the same character.

And they didn’t even give Black Jack a scar across her face but opted to give her a stupid fucking hairclip as if that’s an appropriate replacement.

Anonymous asked: How do you change skin tone so easily. It looks like natural

For that piece it’s because of how it’s rendered. Quick Note: The Highlight layer is off for this one to better show off the shadows.

So, the top most layer is a true/flat color, or diffuse, layer which is the characters colors. It’s set to multiply.

Then there is a shadow tone layer; It’s a dupe of the color layer altered to change the color of the Gradient Map layer. This is to have more control of the color and get it exactly the way I want and because just on it’s own it doesn’t have enough color depth.

The Gradient Map changes the color of the shadow layer. The color of the gradient map doesn’t really matter. I need this layer to have more unique colors.

And finally is the shadow layer which is the just a gray scale layer so I can more easily color it.

Due to this set up I can easily change the color by just changing the diffuse and shadow tone (and highlight) layer.

skeletontrumpet asked: Hey, how did you get so great at art? Any good pointers for amateurs like me?

Honestly, mostly researching anatomy, art techniques, and a lot of blind guessing and experimentation.

Biggest thing is don’t get too down your art doesn’t look as good as you want it. Most of the stuff I produce even know doesn’t look as good as I want it too. You just gotta compromise and learn how to get what you want.

I was wondering how this method would work w/ darker skin tones. It works Very well.
