Quick lore dump: Ibaraki Douji was the subordinate of one of Japan’s three great evil yokai, Shuten Douji (The other two are Tamamo no Mae and Emperor Sutoku). Shuten, along with Ibaraki and two other subordinates, wrecked havoc upon Kyoto until Minamoto no Yorimitsu and his four retainers, which included Sakata Kintoki, killed Shuten and the other two subordinates and Ibaraki fled as the only survivor, Legends say that Ibaraki was romantically involved with Shuten, however, it seems that in the Fate universe, Shuten appeared to Kintoki as a beautiful woman and he may have fallen in love with her and exhibited regret when he had to kill her.
