Quick messy doodle of two demoness from WotBS because I finally have an idea of what I want to do with the story. Lore below but not everything is 100% finalized and also probably poorly written because it’s late and i’m tired but not enough to sleep.
Quick Glossary
Aether: Life-energy which powers everything in the universe. You can’t see, hear, touch or smell it.
Mana: Processed Aether. Mana is what allows people to use magic.
Souls: The result of processed Aether. No one knows what causes souls to form just that they do.
Demons are created from multiple sources but one of the most common is when the soul of a deceased person bound to the earth by strong emotions/memories.
The soul is made of mana and is what drives the body to live. When a person dies the soul is released from the body into the aether but because it’s mana it eventually dissipates. It’s like putting an ice cube in water, it will eventually melt unless something is done to preserve it. This is where strong emotions/memories come in. They act as a anchor that prevents the soul from dissipating back into aethers. Souls bound by emotions are called Remnants.
These Remnants take in aether and become stronger and stronger until they are able to bind themselves with a object, person, or animal. When that happens they become demons. Demons are typically driven solely by the emotion that bound them in the first place.
Though Demons typically have humanoid appearances it is not their “true form”. The true form of the demon is the manifestation of their emotions into a “monsterous” form.
Demons need to constantly replenish Mana at a very fast rate so this leads to them feeding on humans as they posses large quantities of Mana.
The women on the left is Madoline Blackmore, the mother of Molly Blackmore/Mama Witch. She had an unknowing affair with Lord King, and Lord King’s husband took beat her within an inch of her life and then left her for dead in a willow tree. As she died, she cursed Lord King and her husband and swore to get revenge. That hatred bound her soul and she exists to get revenge.
She’s known as the “Corpse Willow” because her “true form” is that of a giant skeleton wrapped within a willow tree. The tree releases a poisonous liquid that will instantly kill anything that enters it. Then the roots of the tree will wrap around the body and turn it into one of her corpse minions.
The woman on the right is Scholar (or Librarian) Alexandria. In life she was a Scholar at the Grand Archive of Eris. The Scholars of GAE take a vow of chastity because chasing worldly pleasures would distract them from their duty of recording, archiving, and maintaining the various records stored inside.
A lord took interest in her beauty and wished to marry her. However, because of her vows, she refused. Enraged he pushed her over the third floor railing and killed her. Then he ordered his men to murder every scholar inside of the Archive and have it burned down to hide the evidence. The Archive was mostly destroyed and none of the archives inside survived.
Alexandria’s soul was bound to the earth by her desire to record history and she fused with the remnants of the Archive and became a demon. However, unlike most demons she’s very benevolent and replenishes her mana by eating normal food, books/records/etc, knowledge and memories.
Her true form is of the GAE in it’s full glory but renamed to the “Great Library of Alexandria”.

Quick doodle for what younger Moonica looked like during her Gladiator day. She fought in the “no armour” group. Her armour and weapon (a club, not pictured) were made by future husband.
She had her tail docked to prevent people from tugging on it.

OC idea: Moonica the Tap Waitress at some dumb resturant called the “Milk Bar”. A bar that allows their customers to drink fresh milk. If they pay a little (actually, a lot) extra they can also drink straight from the “tap”.
Moonica is #1 waitress at the Milk Bar because her customers always feel relaxed around her.
She’s an ex-gladiator who quit when she had her first child and her breasts began to swell to massive sizes.
