well if you play japanese (mobile) games it’s easy to get used to an overabundance of female characters.

other then that I really doubt it’s gonna make game devs put more females in then males unless they were already inclined to do so in the first place

I don't think overwatch is going to release much male champions from what you stated before about girls champions=money and recognize. But since some people labeled overwatch as a "sjw" game, blizzard is probably using that to draw in New customers and just cater to them since guys will just accept it since "more waifu" dynamic.
