Yeah. Your cat probably had a hematoma, too. From what the vet told us you shouldn’t drain it (or leave it be because he said it would go away on it’s own) but it would cause it to shrivel up.

The surgery we’re getting is to prevent/lessen any shriveling because it could close up his ear.
