I was looking at an article about edible food…

While I’m not familiar with the topic, by logic that would make sense only in hermetically seal-able vending machines. And even then I’d have some concerns.

There is no way you could have a vending machine that’s sealed enough to prevent some kind of small animal or insect from getting into it. Not to mention the whole shipping process gives them ample opportunity to be contaminated too.
