Well, this stuff isn’t from the Ivalice raids. It’s from the AST questline, The Four Lords questline, and the Swallow’s Compass.
Also, Yoshi-P’s a liar. He said before SB came out that SAM/RDM weren’t gonna be the new jobs & denied the Sam Raimi tease. So, I trust what’s there and not what Yoshi-P says.
lolrider I feel like people have been saying this for a while. Same thing about Blue/Green Mage. I’m still waiting for them to release dual jobs for the other classes besides arcanist.
I would stop waiting because with the abandonment of classes it’s pretty much confirming that we won’t ever see anymore split classes.

It’s hard to say. I remember Yoshi-P saying (though maybe I’m misremembering) that we would be getting a new healer/tank next expac so unless we get three jobs it’d need to be a healer or tank. Though, I felt with what they established during the job quest is was different enough. The Swallow’s Compass helped fleshed out it’s abilities more too.
Honestly, I don’t think that’s a point against it. SE reuses animations all the time and seeing as it was gonna be 2+ years out before we see Geomancer it’s understandable they’d reuse the perfectly good (and technically defunct) CNJ animations they had. Especially when you consider they made a unique weapon with a distinct design for them too.
Not to mention; I’ve suspected for a long time that SE was gonna re-use wands for a new class since they’ve stopped using them for CNJ/WHM/THM/BLM past 50-something.
Other points for it: mentioning Geomancer at all in the questline. There really was no reason SE had to establish specifically geomancy was the cause for the seals. They could have been like “it’s japanese voodoo magic I ain’t gotta explain shit”.
And so far the trend with SE mentioning jobs by name in-game has lead to them being added in. Only with RDM/SAM but still.
oh and last minute thought that the new enemy geomancers in the swallow’s compass also use wand weapons. Not really proof but still interesting SE is establishing that wands are a thing used by geomancers in more then one place.
I’m probably wrong but I’m pretty confident rn that next expac we’re getting Geomancer as one of the new jobs.
Y’know I think this is the first major patch we’ve had no new hairstyles that were directly accessible from the Aesthetician

Y’know I wonder if the other Ivalician Races like Gria, Nu Mou, and Aegyl are canon too seeing as SE canonized Viera, Bangaa and Seeq in XIV.
I’d really love to see a flying race like Gria or Aegyl in FFXIV.
